After a long thought, I decide to switch my wide angle lenses from this 14L II and 17-40L to 16-35L II and 24L II. So, this one is up for sale.
Sorry, no original box or any other accessories. The lens is in near mint condition, however, it is important that the lens has a minor scratch/ding on the front element as appeared in the third picture. From my experience with the lens, it does not affect performance, except it sometimes creates flare if you shoot directly into the light source. Again, it happens only sometimes. That's why I rate this lens at 8+. If without the blemish, I would have rated this lens at 9+ or even 10.
Please correct me if I am wrong but I notice that this lens was posted 2 months ago, at the same price. Are you interested in moving it or do you prefer to wait for the right buyer at that price, a position that I would totally respect. It is currently listing new at $1,989.00 on B&H shipped and using a credit card.
It's true that I've posted this for quite a while now. The price has been dropped to the lowest that I'm comfortable to let it go or I'll just keep it. I've had offers in the past that they almost went through around this price.
Bottom line is, if it sells, it sells. If not, it's another excellent lens that I can make use of it.
I understand where you are coming from, I have a few lenses myself that I don't use much but can't sell at a price that would justify parting with them. Great picture by the way.

How much would it be to replace the front element?
Don't know how much it will be, as estimate from Canon would require sending the lens in. But it's never been my intention to replace it if I plan to keep it. That's why I've never sent it in. I don't think it's necessary, but that's me. Selling this lens not because of the blemish front element.
Also, anything to Canon these days is always expensive. For the last few times that I sent something in, it cost $200-$300 even for a simplest work.

I don't think the front element can ever be replaced. The cost for replacement may be very close to the price of getting a new lens
Are you talking about this particular model or a general sense of front element replacement?
I don't know about this one, but I know that generally front element can be replaced. It's not cheap, but it's not that expensive as to the cost of a new lens.
