I have numerous machines running Win7 (x64) and DPP with no issues.
Which message and which version of DPP are you using? Is your video driver up to date?
The message says 1024 x 768 is required. the version is 30.31 (I think).
It is the latest I received when I tried to update from a 2007 CD.
I have used DPP for so long that I honestly don't remember. I am
getting so old, 81 now, i can't do a lot of things! My video card is an
AMD 5770 so it and monitor are excellent.
I haven't seen the problem you describe, however LCD monitors are generally designed to work best at their 'native' resolution (eg 1024 x 768) - if you set the resolution lower that that (eg 800x600), the screen will not be as sharp
- perhaps DPP has detected that you have your monitor set to a low resolution?
What is the native resolution of your monitor (you can find this by googling the specs for your monitor model), and what resolution is your monitor currently set to?
(on the Windows Desktop, right click > Screen Resolution)
- Try setting the resolution to the maximum value, or perhaps the 'recommended' value

Thank you, Bob
I had and still have same problem from 2 years ago I ended not using DPP
I asked a similar question 2 years ago with no fix to the problem I am using a HP Envey Notebook with a Dell 2410,
I now use Photoshop
this happens on my netbook which has a lower res than DPP wants. for the netbook there is a registry hack that allows you to set at that res. but the same netbook will launch DPP without a problem on an external screen.
i cant think why the prog wont run when you have a higher res . maybe reduce the screen res to the required and try to open DPP . then you may be able to reset the screen res back to 1920x1200
not ideal i know but may be worth a try

As for myself this is also the case, DPP runs ok on the Dell 2410 at 1920x1200 but not on the HP Envey at 1920x1080
