Personally I would love to own such a drone, but wouldn't really know what to use it for, other than as a small plane replacement for high views of architecture.

Well, in photography, we are always looking for different, creative perspectives. Of course, like many things, if it has to be used appropriately. I was looking into this type of aerial photography, a very interesting concept that I can see tons of use for landscape. But a competent rig is costly and cumbersome so I'm still waiting until I can finish my lens collection and an astro-rig. This particular one looks flimsy.
Definitely cool developments. For nature videos in the mountains and such I think glider planes are even cooler because you can quite literally get a bird's eye view of the landscape with full HD footage, controlling the plane with FPV video goggles. I mean stuff like this:
Yep, if I had a glider that is the kind of stuff I would do (apart from the music). Err, and if I had some buttes I guess the region around Dresden might be nice.
