The bridge looks perfect, however, you needed to included all the sky seen through the steel frames, in addition the sky outside, when you adjusted the tonal range. Just my 2 cents worth.

Agree with Bert on the sky.

Also, I wonder how this would work out with a much longer exposure -- long enough to give the Hudson a silky smooth look. The silky water might make for an interesting contrast to the sharp, clean edges of the steel frame.

Thanks for the comments, gentlemen. I agree with the point about the additional sky but given the limited space to maneuver under there and the lack of a T/S lens makes that a challenge.

I am using Nik's HDR software. Do you have any suggestions about why the tonal compression is different for the sky outside the towers versus inside? I was applying all changes to the entire image and I can't understand why the sky ended up as it it. I added control points to the sky under the bridge to adjust saturation and exposure but that didn't seem to do the trick.

I'm only working with two images here - I need to go back and do it right.

I revisited the scene when the sky was to my liking so I didn't need to monkey with the tonal range.

Nice resurrection

Sky is way better, and I like the additional detail in the underside of the bridge compared to the first one.

Nice perspective and good detail processing. Like the rust on the bottom.
