Except for the vapor trails, your first shot would be the best B&W of Mt Hood I've ever seen. Not your fault, I know; Hood is on the approach to Portland International.
And the dunes' shot is a unique (processing) interpretation- and works quite well imo.

Charlie you are too kind! I do appreciate your kin words. I tried to PS out that darn vapor trail but it looked
too funky.

I agree that separating the foreground firs from the tree-covered areas would add "layering" to the image. I will make that effort.
