I've been at the same lookout point a dozen times, and was never patient and lucky enough to see magnificent colors and light like these.

The colors are gorgeous and you framed it perfectly
I have driven by there several times and wondered about that large building atop the hill
Would you mind sharing with me what the Vista House is all about?

Bob

the Vista house was built during the period when they were constructing the original Columbia Gorge highway. I'm sure that you can Google and learn more history. It's a beautiful view from the Vista house itself also.

this shot is very nice. This vista point at the Women Forum is one of the best in the Gorge.

Have a question: the dark areas in the upper right and left corner of the picture, are they generated by a filter?

Wonderful composition Mike! Great sky color!!!
Well composed image.
The darkening in the corners may be fixable in CS6 Bridge.

The expanse is so wide and far the house gets 'minaturized" in the fov BUT doesnot really detract from the overall enjoyment of the composition.
