like the perspective perhaps a bit better in 2, but think 1 is overall stronger composition, if that makes sense.
BTW, approx where was this? I'll actually be stopping by Yosemite in about a week. (sadly not but for a day or two, still, quite looking forward to it)

Absolutely Beautiful Jim, Very well done! The colors and comp are awesome. That warm light coming off the rocks on the left and the fresh snow are fantastic! Probably one of the absolute best color photos of Yosemite I have seen! Great Photo!
Thanks so much Brad for those words, I really appreciate them!

This was from the Gates of the Valley, or as some call it now, Valley View. If you look on the map they give you when you enter the park you will find it. It's on the North Loop road just before it connects back in to the South Loop road on the West end of the Valley. You can't miss it, but if you do, please holler and one of us can help direct you to it.

Beautiful. I always think of Valley View for the end of the day. You have opened my eyes to new possibilities. Thank you.

Hey Chuck, thanks so much! Yeah, Gates of the Valley, or Valley View is my go to place in the morning. I shoot there usually for pre-sunrise. Sometimes I will shoot from Tunnel View, but usually here, and then once the sun starts to hit El Cap, I zip on down to the South Loop and shoot El Cap, the Three Brothers, etc with the Merced River. From there, I usually will head closer to the Swinging Bridge and get shots of Yosemite Falls.
