Holland played the Michigan Growl on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon and I made it to part of each game and managed to get some shots I liked. The first 5 are from Saturday's game and were all shot with the 85 f/1.8 lens from the bench. The next 5 are from Sunday's game and are shot from the stands with the 200 f/2.8 lens. Holland won both of the games and things were getting pretty chippy by the end of Sunday's game. Always open to comment and critique.
what shooting mode are you in? Aperture priority? I used my 85 1.8 at a game the other day and was pretty happy witht results as well. The extra stops of light and being able to reduce ISO and up shutter speed makes a big difference.
Adrian, these were all shot in Manual mode. I used an 18% gray card to set exposure and a custom white balance and was really pleased. Having the exposure and WB nailed makes processing much easier.
