These were shot last week, during the Dutch Eredivisie game between PSV Eindhoven and FC Utrecht.
It was a difficult game for the league leaders (PSV), especially since they received a red card in the second half. Still PSV managed to win the game (2 - 1). Thankfully PSV are still the league leaders. Tomorrow will be an important day when PSV is playing away against Feyenoord.

Damn, Tim, these shots provide as much a feeling of being at the match as I've had with matches I've photographed! I like how you have brought the viewer deep into all sorts of different kinds of action. For some reason, for me, that first shot is the most compelling. Might be the eyes, or the gears I can almost see spinning in his head. Great set. Thanks for sharing them. Our major league soccer in the US begins its regular season next month, so your work is a fine study.
Ahh... #1, what a classic and compelling frame! Great work here Tim, action captured really provides a feel for what transpired throughout the match. Excellent work

I always try to get 'different' shots when I'm shooting football. Glad that you liked them.
Mark van Bommel is a very well known player and I'm glad he's back. Yes, he's certainly a pleasure to photograph with his clear expressions.
