Took a hike up Misery Ridge in Smith Rock SP. The aptly named trail made short work of my legs.

1. Half way up the trail...saw reflections of the canyon colors in Crooked River.

2. A bit further up the trail, got some nice views of some of the spires. I have a strong love for rugged rocky country...this most definitly fits the bill.

3. Here is the view from up on the ridge.

4. Same spot, just looking back to the left down the trail I came there on.

My legs are finally recovering....cant wait to do it again from the west trail.

Wow! Absolutely gorgeous captures. Love the late afternoon sun. Really breathtaking (literally..) scenery.

Especially love the reflected light off the river. Really nice.

Shot #3 is the best. Amazing view. The others might be worth exploring in Black and White with contrasty light to really convey the texture.

Did this one morning in July last year. By the time I got past the Monkey Face the sun was making life at the top pretty grim! Still, well worth the effort for the grandiose vistas from Hood to Bachelor.
