Hello...Is this right? Only half of the tower? I would have rather seen the entire tower with the clouds in the background. A wide angle lens would have worked better for this shot I think. Not seeing the whole tower feels weird to my eyes. Good exposure though, however the red channel is a bit blown.

Yes, that was the idea: different perspective. A detail rather than a grand vista. Enough detail to recognize the whole, yet offering a closer view of the remarkable vertical formations. A graphic interplay of shapes, forms and colors.
I've seen shots of Devils Tower so many times, this composition was rather refreshing. I really this one. Well executed. And as you said, it forces the eye to pay more attention to the great texture.
