Our tour bus stopped along the road so we could see some of the activities involved in harvesting one of the three crops per year in that climate and soil.
As you can tell- it's a labor intensive kind of farming.
The Balinese/Indonesian people are extremely polite and friendly.
And, like most farmers, they take pride in growing the food that people eat.
It's also safe to say that tour buses didn't stop along this road very often to watch their efforts. As the American tour director, I asked our guide if we could stop for a few minutes. She told the driver to stop, and my group of 30 Americans hopped out for a few pics.
