Location and time: Cape Dombey, Guichen Bay, Robe, South Australia. You're viewing the Southern Ocean pounding against the shoreline during an unforgettable evening and night (as well as some star trails, the brightest was due to planet Venus) in April 2012.

Technical: Canon EOS 5D Mark II, tripod, long exposure, PP in PS 5.1 partly employing Silver Efex Pro 2 plugin

You have a nice image here. I think it would be better with the star trails cloned out. If there were more of them it would be different but just one or two short tails draws my eye to the upper left hand corner of the image.

I like this a lot Volker and the star trails give it an added element, which to me gives the image a nice balance.
