In the process of getting signed with Nike, here is my favorite press photo...

I can feel the power about to burst through my monitor.

Lighting looks pretty good in the back but his face needs some more fill. Try using a silver reflector or ring flash to get some light in the eyes. I'm guessing the background lights were added in? I dig they layout but dont think I've ever seen a stadium with that lay out of lights so this could throw off the folks who see it in the running industry. other than that cool shot!

The lighting was intentionally that way on his face but I definitely see your point that a hair more fill wouldn't hurt. There was a bit of fill coming from bottom right, you can see the octabox in the behind the scenes shot

sweet shot. What was artificially added? Are the stadium lights real?

Great shot. The eyes and face just seem kinda soft to me. Maybe its just my monitor.

Robin, the stadium lights are taken from other photos I took at that same stadium and added in post. They definitely add a lot to the photo vs the one without.

I just looked at this on someone elses monitor and I think the contrast on my monitor might be a tad out of whack. The photo is meant to be much less contrasty than it appeared on that monitor at least. I guess I shouldn't ignore those Spyder calibration reminders for so long

Too many added lights (look out of place) for a track field in a stadium but the effect is there. Great job overall though.

Kinda a rehash of what has been said, it look really nice, a bit more fill on the face couldn't hurt. Excellent start though!

I think having stadium seats would have tied it in better with the lights but I wasn't a fan of how they looked in that shot.

Here's another from the shoot, this was a panoramic composite of the first 20M of the 100M. This runner is close to breaking 10 seconds in that race. http://f.cl.ly/items/1p410y0l041l3G3t243g/20130212-Untitled_Panorama1.jpg

I have to agree about the background stadium lights. It's truly obvious to anyone who has been to a stadium that they are wrong.

Sorry to be perhaps harsh, but you want to put your best foot forward. A little tweaking is all you need.

Totally agree. I used to be a T&F athlete.

If you just doing this for him, no worries, but you will want to get it right if there are any hopes of Nike using the image.

Good luck to you both

Thanks guys, I'll definitely consider switching up the background lights a bit more. Right now this is for him and Nike may be using some but these will be going on his website and in his press kit.
