Spent 2 days in Paris for work, and stayed at the Concorde Lafayette Hotel. I was as able to "squeeze" some shots through the very limited space I could open my 14th floor window. No way to use a tri-pod, so I braced against the window and window sill. As I am still on the road, editing was done on my laptop, so please be merciful. I haven't seen these on a real screen yet.
And one from up close. The structures in the middle are temporary construction lifts being used for renovation and upgrade work being performed on the first observation deck.
Thanks for all of the kind comments, especially on #2...my favorite also. I was looking to show the mass of the tower, which given its age, is absolutely remarkable.
Marcelo, I did not have a tripod with me, so most everything was hand held. The shots of the tower from my hotel I got by wedging my camera between the window and the frame...which was a challenge. I lucked out as the window only opened about 5 inches from one side, and it fortunately gave me a perfect angle to the tower.
Jay, I was shooting with a 5DII. All of the tower shots from the distance were taken with the 70-200 F2.8L IS II. It is a beast to carry, but I cannot give up it's quality. The shot of the tower from below was captured using the 17-40 F4L.
