p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · First try at kids football photography

All,

My son did his first year of tackle football. I took my 5D MarkII out and a 70-200 IS lens and tried to take some pictures for the parents to remember the games.
My goal is to get better to allow others to best remember their children participating in a team sport.

Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Some nice stuff here, but the one I like best is the last one. Really like seeing the coach in the huddle, but more than anything else, I really like seeing the skyline in the background. Great job.

One sugestion....in the future, try to number your photos. It will make it much easier for people to comment on them and provide feedback.

Keep on shooting.

Rick

I agree with Rick, the last one is awesome. I love the huddle and the buildings in the background! For my personal taste, I think that it's a little too saturated, but it is still a very solid photo.

Generally speaking, you want to avoid backs. I see what you are trying to do with #2 and #4, but it doesn't quite work for me. At this age especially, it's about E & E (eyes and expressions). Because of that, #3 gets my vote.

Nice work, like how the color pops in these. I lke #1, but would have preferred a full head shot. I also like #4.

#3 is great.

Some of the others need a bit more cropping and they would be better. They are sharp shots so it shouldn't hurt resolution much.

I might even go vertical on 1 and wider on #2 to give context to help what you were trying to achieve.

#4 might be cool from the other corner opposite.

Congrats on the next level of football of for your son! Looking forward to more shots as the season continues.
