Here are the before and after versions of a shot that I had initially discarded ... this morning I decided to play around with it, desaturated the shot to a b/w version, adjusted exposure and highlight and then - by accident - used a gradual filter with "Iris Enhance" setting (My intend was to use an exposure filter). Surprisingly this turned out to be a fun version in my opinion. Let me know what you think. Frank
I really like the idea that you were playing around, experimenting, and came up with something new. I'm actually kind of surprised this was a throwaway shot for you. Maybe you got even better shots of your kid playing the guitar that day. it just feels so natural to me, and the kid really looks focused on the finger movements. The editing gives it a more edgy, gritty look, and for this subject, it is interesting. Nice job! Thanks for sharing!
I like the tighter crop, enhanced hair and brighter face.
The graduated desaturation towards the right side of the image is an interesting effect - the difference in skin tone between the left and right arms is a little disturbing
Overall it works for me though.
Make that "he", Derry He likes his hair long, always has. Ever since it grew in that's the his look - and actually fits nicely with his passion for music and soccer. Since he is so particular about it we don't mind bringing him to a nicer hair salon ... once the lady cut his hair "too short" and you won't see him in there anymore.
