Johnny, Maddie moves around a lot, but I had a treat at the ready and ended up having to move the camera and tripod around to get her covered by the BG...not as easy as it looks!

Does she have sore knees (stifles). Most dogs that sit with their knees to the side, hurt when flexing them and often develop ACL injuries later.
PM me if you have any questions.
I agree she is a beautiful dog, and all labs are especially nice.

Hi Randy, Maddie had ACL surgery on her left knee two months ago, so she still favors it a bit...you can actually see a couple spots of the scar in this shot. They did a procedure where they cut the tibia, shift it, then screw in a supporting plate.....
I'm curious about the way she sits - my dog is a stray and she sits exaclty the same way; always has. I'm wondering if she had a leg injury; anyone know if this is a common sympton?
Greg
TPLO surgery, which is the gold standard for repair on canine ACLs. Try to keep her from jumping or explosive activity to help prevent the right side from having trouble. She is predisposed. Beautiful dog, I have two yellow ones, who are laying at my feet at present.
Randy
Dr. Randy, yeah, we still have her penned until we get the okay from her vet to let her loose, and her main concern was her "good" leg, while the muscles recover on the "bad" leg. I read about the TPLO surgery and when I rub her repaired knee, I can feel what I assume is the plate. A friend of mine just had to do a second surgery on his lab, so at least I know to save for the next one!

Greg- great dialogue between you dog-loving guys.
About the pic: I seldom like white backgrounds for any pics, but it works here if for no other reason than because Maddie is such a sweetheart. Okay, I'll give you some credit too, Greg . I've tried to photograph dogs before, and even while sitting they are moving targets .
