So much stuff in the backlog! This shot taken in November when i had just got some Lee filters. Shot with a .9 hard grad on a 5d2 and 17-40L.

More than my usual amount of processing with this one, I wanted a harder more defined edge to some of the water to counteract the softness of the movement. Nightmare getting the right shutter speed for water movement and not too much the log moved and ruined the shot. I've not changed the colours (apart from white balance), had some local contrast adjustments and run through Nik efex detail extractor.

Got filthy dragging the half burnt log down the beach, then back above the high water line (I surf here from time to time..). Also got soaked but thats what seascapes is all about right?

Hey Rob,

That looks pretty cool, I like all the lines in the water. And as for getting wet, I always change into water pants and shoes when I shoot at the beach... getting wet is just part of the game.

I really like this one. The colors..the hard edges on the water...excellent. Only nit is the haloing around the left mountain

Nicely done on this Rob. I like all the water detail in the foreground. The log is a nice touch so your effort dragging around was worthwhile!
