Great compositions and I do like the lighting setup - even the more harsh, overlapping background shadows in #3 work really well ... create a kind of intriguing "surprise" element.

I agree about the shadows, they really work here. I should also try to do something similar to that but I always fear that the shadows become too distracting so I really don't use hard light at all. The other thing I like here is that everything is in focus (small aperture). This is also something I've been trying to do lately
