Anyone have one of these?

I noticed Outdoor Photo Gear was running a special on 3LT tripods, just wanted to get some feedback and if I should pick one up.

Thanks!

yep English branding and cute adware and colors. in the end the usual chinese tripods

scoped them at photo plus in NYC last fall.

not that they are anything bad they're just nothing special.

Ah, gotcha!

I liked the features, one leg breaks as a monopod, the legs can spread nearly parallel to the ground and the detachable stem.

But there are so many names in the line, just not sure what works for what.

the breakout monopod gets old rather quickly and is present in other makes. possibly they are the same one under another branding give or take a color are a bit added to make it look a little different.

What other models have the breakout monopod? Just curious.

A tripod that doubles as a monopod isn't that great an idea. I'm only familiar with the Benro line and their current models are their second go at it. They gave these models the horrible adjective "transformational".

The first design gave you just a leg that you take off and put a head on. They were too short as I'm sure you can imagine. So they improved the height problem by allowing you to also remove the center column and screw it into the top of the removed leg. But how stable is a gizmo like that going to be?

If you want a monopod, buy a monopod. They're comparatively inexpensive relative to tripods.
