p.1 #1 · D800 RRS L-Plate and GGS rear LCD screen

There's a question of clearance when using with the RRS L-plate with the GGS III rear LCD protector screen. Can anyone who's tried this combo verify whether it fits or does not fit?

The clip on style GGS does not fit with the L bracket. A member did get it to fit with some modifications:

I never used the clip-on GGS myself, just the adhesive kind.

Thanks. I think I'll order one anyway and try to modify it. If it doesn't work out its not going to be a big loss.

The GGS II is a glass cover that works real well. I used it on the D800e with no clearance problem and now use it on the D4. They cost about $8 on Amazon.

That's probably the best option. The only attraction for the III seems to be that it comes off easier, but that's not really an issue. Can't think of a time when I needed to remove the factory-supplied protector.

Use a length of floss to remove, if that becomes necessary.

GGS III works fine with the Kirk L bracket, just buy one of those instead
