Back in 2008, I was using a Sony a100 DSLR and got an old Minolta 50mm f/1.7 prime. I loved that lens and had it on my camera 95% of the time.
Fast forward to 2013 and I'm now using a Canon 7D and I find myself shooting a lot of wide shots thanks to my Canon 10-22mm. I love that lens but I wanted to try and get back to my early days taking photos and really exploring a city through my camera. I want to make an effort to start focusing on textures and details. So I went out and took my camera but only had my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 with me.
I'm going to make an effort to try and capture Auckland in a more interesting way, going tight and focusing on details to tell a bigger story and convey the feeling I get from this city. My idea is that these images work as a series to tell a bigger story. If you want to see more you can check out my Flickr set at http://flic.kr/s/aHsjDPoane
