I found this duck sleeping in the shade with a bright sunny background. Getting low enough required me to work in an uncomfortable position so I had to open the aperture wide to get a fast enough shutter speed to be steady. Add some balanced flash and carful processing and we get to see the pretty feathers.

Certainly some more iridescence showing in the 2nd shot.. eye focus is a touch soft to me, but otherwise some decent shoveler shots! -Mike
