I was actually in a pontoon boat, but next time I will try to get lower in the boat, although that still might be higher than water level.

I hope to try again next year.

Great plumage, sometimes you just don't have a choice for position at certain locations,
I'm very frustrated with that in certain areas at our local wetlands.
