p.1 #1 · I Fullfilled my childhood dream...

At 8 years old I was told about a beautiful white bird that people would drive hours and hours for a chance glimpse and if lucky a distant photograph.I hoped one day that I would get to see that elusive bird. Last year when the snowy irruption in Vancouver happened I didn't as much jump at the chance as teeter to the edge before making a cautious leap. This was a bird I had wanted to see in the wild more than any other except maybe a quetzel. So I contacted Tim Kuhn and made plans to head to Seattle and then to Vancouver. I have chronicled this before so for many this isn't new info. But I wanted to mention this because over the past few years this forum with its amazing people, many who are extraordinarily talented, have been so giving in so many ways that I just needed to reiterate my feelings of thanks for all you have done to make be better. Tim said there wasn't any golden light but there was warmth, and brilliance there that wasn't in the least created by the sun....thanks!
Now that there isn't a dry eye in the house, on with the snowy show...this may be the last of the Pac West snowys but hoping to catch up with its eastern cousin sooner than later.

Yes indeed it was a cloudy, cool, damp day but who noticed? It was a magical day, the joy of seeing someone seeing a few of the magnificent creatures we are blessed with for the first time was priceless. Hmm, I wonder if that may happen to you this year

Hey we have some great looking stumps out here don't we!!!! I'm loving the set Eric or maybe it was your intro that put me in such a great mood

I never thought that maybe these were decoys and I was taking photos of wood owls....the funny thing is, the first great horned owl that I spotted was just that...a composite sitting on a pole..how embarrassing!
So darn nice...wait until there's a full moon!

Please Tim, at 8 there wasn't even Jeannie or Mary Ann in the picture...and that was before they put all those hormones in chickens too...

But, yes, we do remember our firsts quite fondly and this was a first and an owl orgy to remember for eternity.
And believe me, the smile on my face later this year will be just as pronounced when I see your excitement as you get to see what I have fallen for big time.
