· Canon 100mm macro--no USM or IS
A friend is selling his clean, sharp 100mm macro for $200. Since I focus manually for macro work, is there any point in spending more for USM or IS?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I have a 100 macro 2.8 non IS (it does have USM) but really on a tripod for close up work you don't need AF nor IS so I say go for it. Robert
