p.1 #1 · 4 HS bb with trusty 20D

My 7D has started acting up with an Error 30 (Grrrrr), so I brought out the 20D from the bullpen. It's been a great camera that I'll use until it goes "boots up".

I was pleased with the outcome.

Thanks for looking...

Very nice. I like the concentration and determination you captured on 3&4. Did you use strobes or a speed light that you stopped action with 1/200 ss?

Ditto. Proof positive that the tools don't make the carpenter!

I didn't know a 20D could still make pictures.

Nicely done.

Bob,

When I first read the intro about what you were using -- and then saw the ISO of 800, I thought the photos had to be taken outside on the playground.

Amazing how well your strobes render skin tones. Curious to know what you are using -- and what the lighting is like in the gym.

Really like number 1.

Thanks Monkey and Rick...

The lights are Norman ML400's, bounced with Paul Buff long-throw reflectors.

Gym lights are flourescents, and ambient is in the neighborhood of ISO 5000, f/2.8 @ 1/500 or 640 depending on end of floor.
