Is there a program where I can check the shutter count of my camera via plugging in the USB cord?

Is there a specific reason you want this functionality instead of just uploading a photo to one of the many sites that can tell you?

my guess is hes buying a camera off craigslist and wants to check in person. But as far as I know, the only way to check via usb is to just download a photo onto your phone and upload it to one of the sites like shuttercount.

It won't be but shutter count is in a jpg's exif which is what any of these sites will read so does it really need to be?

Get Opanda iExif, it's a downloadable that reads JPEG metadata and can tell you how many actuations. Doesn't work on raws though unless you pay for it, as far as I know.

I was informing him its not a Nikon site. I really don't care where anyone gets their shutter count from.
