Save 100 dollars. Amazing value at 399 if you don't need AF.

Compares favorably to the 35 1.4 sigma... but no auto focus. Nikon has focus confirm.

Low coma and good wide open make it a good star shooting lens at 1.4

Going that low saves you some valuable time when exposing for night shots with no star trails.

Don't have any. Don't have lens yet. Read enough about it that I'm confident it'll do a good job. Has really good resolution at 1.4. Coma is pretty well handled. (this makes stars on the outer portion turn into seagull type winged looking creates)

Imagine a 10-15 second exposure with iso 2000 + will yield some really nice milky-way shots.

Keep in mind that infinity focus may be off, and in that case star shots may be tricky.

if you've got liveview that makes it pretty easy... fast lenses do great with liveview manual focusing
