As the title states, I am looking for a wedding photographer for Friday, July 26, 2013. I will be getting married that day and would like to spend about $450 for the ceremony and a part of the reception.
I know the budget is minimal, but I am only looking for someone to take photographs of the event - no post-processing necessary (maybe one or two to keep). I would love to do the work myself, but being the groom...it will not be possible. I can do all the post-processing work myself, so in reality pics of the event is all I need.

My partner and I are willing to shoot the wedding/engagement for free. I worked at a wedding studio for more than a year, and have stot many weddings in the past.
Recently I started my own photography business and we are currently in the process of re-building a portfolio.

Wow...so tell me, once you establish yourself as a genuine photography business with overhead, taxes to pay etc, are you going to throw your prices out the window when a couple comes to you with $450 to spend?

There is nothing wrong to start cheap when one just starts the business.
To the OP, just be aware of the risk when you are hiring an inexperienced photographer for one of the biggest events of the life time. Make sure go through the portfolios carefully.

it amazes me that there are people committing to shoot a $450 wedding during peak wedding season this early in the year. Perhaps they can up-sell an e-session for 12 bucks and a value meal.
