Old school I know, but this scanner worked well for me for several years. I'm trying to revive it to start scanning a lifetime of slides (ruthlessly edited down to a managable number). Worked fine last night, but today I'm getting Error Message = 4 - either "Exceeded time limit - process cancelled" or "Could not confirm scanner connection" which is physically good. Scanner keeps blinking.
When I upgraded to Windows 7 64bit, I couldn't get my old scanners working until I bought Vuescan. One of my scanners is a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400. You might look into that.
