I've been spending too much time on the gear boards, so made a resolution to start posting in the photo forums more often. Starting off: a quick portrait of my daughter.
Stunning lovely young lady, those wonderful big brown eyes can make you melt. I love the very much but I would also perhaps have personally chosen somewhat less of crop from the top. Certainly terrific as is though.
Light was mostly from a large window. Fill flash was just to take out a few shadows, and was actually the on board flash with some flash exposure compensation dialed down. I removed the highlights from the flash. The rectangle of paper was actually some artwork she was working on, but the white paper served nicely as a reflector in any case.
I usually shoot wider portraits too, especially of children, but I think that the tight shot can sometimes be dramatic. In any case, I liked this one.
Love it ... first thought was 'Russian Snow Princess'. The cropping works in a way but I suspect that the photo might have been better including the top of the head. Her hair (curls and color) would be a great feature.
