This one posed up nicely at a distance. Thankfully the extra reach of the 2x TC helped. 800mm f11 effective Slightly cropped for composition

The light was still harsh..but I guess one can't win them all

well done for in the middle of the day shot.

My one suggestion - - give the bird more space to look into on the left. JMHO

Cool looking bird and impressive IQ with the 2X... very well done.

I generally prefer images with the eye visible... what color is the eye of this KF?

The actual composition was slightly wider and had some space for the bird to look into. But the large/lighter leaves (see below) were slightly distracting to me. Agree this one's a little too tight

The eyes are the normal black...here's another shot of it in a different composition

I guess my excitement towards #1 was for getting the membrane, but yes #2 does have better engagement from the subject.
