Grateful for recommendations on trustworthy camera shops in any of Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Taipei, Hong Kong, or Saigon in case I need to resupply (CF cards, batteries, etc.) or seek service while traveling.
I know to avoid the scam artists on Nathan Road in HK, but not where to go in any of these cities for quality care (which I hope not to need even once).

Bought a lot there. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui (Hanoi Road, Building K11,3rd floor)
Also go to Stanley Road several reliable shops (go Chung Pui Photo Supplies ask for Paul Chan)
And go Shogun Camera www.shoguncamera.com Lock Road , Tsim Sah Tsui. Good for 2nd hand and alternative stuff.
Limited US stuff like Wimberley, Really Right Stuff, Acratech, Gary Fong here: http://www.iphotohk.com/shop/v3/ its actually an online shop but I went there to buy. Location Mongkok
There are a few more dealers (both online and physical dealers) who can offer even slightly cheaper prices but I would not recommend to foreigners as we do not know how they deal with foreigners. Local buyers are fine.
In Seoul, I would recommend the camera area of Nam-dae-moon Market. It is more DSLR oriented than Yongsan. But, if you want actual price tags with a slight markup, the Canon retail store in Kangnam is the best (sometimes, it is better because the prices don't change depending on the customer). In general, things are more expensive in Korea than the USA. Good luck and good travels!
Id avoind every shop on Nathan Rd Hong Kong.
Wing Shin in Mong kok are good.
ALL shops in Japan are ok.
In Ho Chi Minh(sorry its not been Saigon for 35 yers) the tax center in district 1 is ok but be careful.
I'm a Vietnamese, and I'm still prefer to call Saigon, not Hochiminh. Btw, Jack Kelley, if you need help in Saigon/HCMC, you could reach me at (+84)933.250.369. And yes, Khanh Long camera in the Tax Center (right in front of it, look at the small sign) would be a good place for photography equipments.
Re: Seoul, I found the dealers in Namdaemun and Yongsan to be less than reputable (selling returns/refurbs as new, swapping out batteries for third party ones, etc). In fact, electronics buying in Korea was generally kind of a pain for me because there are a lot of dealers but a lot of them are shady. YMMV
