Hi there ... thank you for the comments. Her eyes are fine - the reason why the pupils seem to be dilated that much must be because they did not have time to adjust to the light quickly enough. I bounced the flash off the ceiling.
With regard to the glare on the magnifying glass - that's a good point too. I actually did not zero in on that. I could try to photoshop that a little ... probably hard to try to retake the photo since it was a snapshot.
It's too bad the magnifying glass gives you such a short dof. You can see her eyelashes in focus, but not the eye itself. If you wanted this to be a keeper, I'd clone her left eye and bring it over to the right, and then expand as necessary.
Ha ha, great shot, I like it a lot. This is one of the rare times I'm going to disagree with Ron. The blurry eye doesn't bother me and actually neither do the reflections.
I remember doing a similar shot with my son a number of years ago and had totally forgotten about it. You made me dig it up and enjoy it again, so thanks for that :-)
