p.1 #1 · Will used D800 prices go up anytime soon?

Does anyone know or think that the used D800 market prices will go up?
The price for a D800 at about roughly 2,400-2,500 is very appealing to me right now.
But I'm looking to purchase it in about 2-3 weeks because I need to see how much money I'll have for my trip to Korea since I'm bad at saving and do impulse buying.

Any comments are appreciated! Sorry if it has been covered.

For the price, I'd say a refurb is a better way to go:

With the used camera, you get zero warranty. With the refurb, you at least get 90 days.

Doubt it. There should still be a plethora of refurbs available, keeping "used" reasonable.

I don't think you're gonna see the price change much in a few weeks. D800 refurbs are priced at $2500, so I would expect nice/used to go for just slightly less.

Nobody here has a crystal ball. Nobody here has any control over future prices. You're on your own for this one.

Granted, prices generally tend downward over the long term, but they can and do spike upward in the short term. They can also spike downward over the short term.

I would buy now and get used to handling the camera before the trip.

I bought one of the Cameta refurbs as my xmas gift to me. It arrived with 28 clicks on the shutter, and a 1 year warranty.

Since the Yen keeps losing ground to the dollar, one might guess that the prices should go down over time. Big question is of course when.
