Sorry you didn’t get more support for your picture. I am not a professional photographer, much less a portraitist. My own tastes tend toward the hyper-conservative or, if you like--fascistic. The wild make-up, black lipstick, overt sexuality, and the like don’t appeal to me. That’s my own personal take on things, and I hope that will not discourage you from pushing the envelope. Even though I may not always like it, I still do support experimentation and new approaches to creativity.
Looks like a BTS shot of the makeup being applied. I like the idea of showing the flurry of activity on/around the model. If you are showing this as a finished image, then I don't like the makeup or composition.
Thanks for the encouraging comments guys, this was my first time shooting in a studio. I do this more as a hobby as opposed to a business so most of my shoots are usually on location.
Some nice images in here but I don't care for the first one. The last two could use a little shadow under her feet to ground her. Otherwise she is floating.
Heres a thought - make the brick support completely white (especially the seated one) and it will change the statement of the piece. Or make it white, with the corners black so it looks like a 2d sketch cube.
