D, YOU could probably use a polaroid and get shots like this!! Nonetheless, congrats on the new CAMERA body (I initially left out the word 'camera' in this coment and then realized what a bad idea that would be). You've got that thing tuned in alright!!!
H
Thanks H. Decent first outing checking out its capabilities, I'm pretty excited about the potential of this camera.
These look fantastic. I guess I'll have to join the D800 club! I've been waiting for the mythical D400 also, but your pics show the wait is not necessary. Congrats!

Like you NEEDED new gear to get great shots Oh boy, look out boys and girls this guy is going to blow us away!! Well he already has. Super set Kruk I soooooo love Cinny's and you present us with the best IF's I have seen of them, wow what crisp flyers Then you nail Mr B who is looking so soft I want to pet him. No easy exposure there and yours is spot on. Speaking of techs, the Scoter could not be any better, exposed to kill and sharp from tip to tail And then a Kirk trademark, an excellent mud sucker. You are on a roll buddy, loving this set and I'm really looking forward to seeing more from the new gear Way to go Kirk!
Many, many thanks for your generous words Tim, you're too kind buddy... but I accept.
I'm really excited about the possibilities with the D800 and cannot wait to get some FF opportunities... Stay tuned.
Thanks again... Lets see more of the Snowy in golden light.

Eric
Thanks a ton Eric, really appreciate it buddy.
These new sensors are fantastic and allow us to capture so much more than 5-6 year old technology... Cha-Ching $$$

I am am in the same boat. Have D300 and 300mm F4 AF-S. Picked up the D800 and am loving it. Your pics look great! I need the TC now so I can get the reach back I lost going to the FX!
I love being in this boat.
Love the speed and accuracy with the TC on the D800, it was quite frustrating at times with the D300.
Thanks for the good words.
I try at my lunch at work to look at peoples work but most of the time I cant view them because of the firewall there but Im glad I took the time at home to check these out.
Simply outstanding work Kirk

Looks like a very good move to me.
I love the flyers with beautiful details and crisp sharpness.
Chris
Thanks much Chris. I'm so happy with this camera. I'm still blown away by the IQ of these DX mode pics that are cropped by another 50%. Love it.

Really appreciate the good words Lonnie. Of course Canon is every bit as capable as Nikon gear.

got tired of waiting huh? don't blame you. super shots Kirk!
I'm so glad I opted for the D800. 6 FPS is plenty for me and the IQ is fantastic. Couldn't pass it up for $2,299. I'm also excited about doing some FX landscape and portrait photography with the 24-70 f/2.8 G AF-S
