#1- At first, the children were a bit self conscious because the Indonesian woman in charge of the kids told them to get together so the tourists could take their picture.
#2- After a few seconds of my constantly smiling at the one boy, he got into the mood.
These children weren't accustomed to a bunch of silly foreigners poking cameras at them- and it showed. All the better for me . I hate forced smiles anyway.
Oh- these children weren't poor; it's so freaking hot and humid in Indonesia that wearing clothes is silly.
The adults are modest, but the kids couldn't care less about modesty.
Thanks Vilimo, Luke, Dean and Danny.
Bali is volcanic soil and the climate is wet and warm, so crops grow magnificently there. One gets the impression that you could eat one of the many tasty fruits, throw the seed out the window, and next year harvest fruit from the plant.
