Tough reflections off the yellow floors and deep red 'paint'...cooled these down considerably. Keyed into the white tops of the sneakers to try to get the WB right. Also tried for more clear faces... Russ Isabella Online • • • • • Upload & Sell: On p.1 #2 · HS Girls Basketball (new) Hey Grant, I suppose it could become an almost philosophical discussion regarding wide vs tight shooting, but I'm going to say that while I like the perspective provided by that first shot, for that particular moment of action, I'd rather be tight on the two key players. Nice action in all of these. I love the way the one player rises up out of the crowd in your fourth image. 5, 6 and 7 all are solid. I seem to recall a recent post of yours where the importance of faces was raised (was it Rick?), and you certainly have taken that to heart here with great effect. #3 is the only one that doesn't work for me, for while I like the bridge they've formed, it's not sharp. Love the separation from the crown -- and the tongue just makes it perfect. Great grab. Couple other thoughts -- #2 Very nice. Like the over the back feel of this one -- and the reaction of the other players in the photo too. #3 Missed focus. #4 Great timing on the finger-tip release. #7 Really like the face of the defender. I think it adds a lot to the shot. Good stuff Chris. Looks like you handled the dreaded maroon key area pretty well. I find that shooting really low in gyms like that makes a big difference -- unless the players are diving on the floor or looking down to get a loose ball. Thanks Rick...appreciate it, I'll leave #3 in so others can see, I kept looking at the players unis (like #10, front right) and seeing they were sharp and thought I was seeing things where the two main players faces appeared a tad soft...guess that must have been motion blur that the 1/640 couldn't freeze...I'll probably go back to 1/800.
