The comparo photo amuses me: True, the "modern" woman is wearing a helmet, and yet the older motor bike itself is safer that the newer motor scooter because it wouldn't go as fast, and because it has bigger tires. Then too there is the matter of the cell phone as a distraction in the modern pic.
Also, the 70s or 80s (I've been to Paris several times) were much better for girl-watching, i.e. the woman in my pic is wearing a dress and her long hair is blowing in the wind.

Indeed, Charlie. I can only envy your experience of girl-watching in Paris from back in those years. Would that I had not been so burned out by my Far East USMC experience (non-combat), I'd've gone much sooner than 2010. Your pictures from around the world are so inspiring. On another note, I don't know why she did it, but several times my wife pulled me back from traffic I was about to walk into because of gawking at Paris women.
