Hola! From another pretty new sports forum member welcome to the party. Plenty of resources and lots of great folks willing to help in here.
Some nice shots here. Thanks for sharing. Looks like this arena is pretty dark in areas, nicely handled. Here are some of my thoughts as another newbie when I looked at your shots.
#1 - seems like a half second sooner on the shutter may have caught the foul/block as it happened. Cool shot, just wish there was one of the peak moment.
#2 - love coaches and their animation!
#3 - great timing and very cool shot. Guys on the floor add to it IMO.
#4 - not much to add
#5 - nice timing again, with the lighting available (which I prefer to shoot ambient) nicely done.
#6 - I would crop the top even tighter, maybe even add a bit of fill light (very small amount)
#7 - nice grab, would trim it even tighter to help bring focus to #1.
Frank- Thanks for the comment yeah I'm lucky my camera and I survived this game. Unfortunately earlier in the day I was shooting a high school game, and during warm ups some kid decided he was going to show off to his buddies and shoot one from the the bleachers. Needless to say my 24-70 is no more and the AF on my 1D wasn't quite up to snuff that game. Looks like they get an early vacation to CPS.
MakoShark- I appreciate the greetings Yeah the floor of the arena are pretty well lit but it does drop off pretty quickly in the stands. Thank you for your C&C though, it's much obliged.
