p.1 #1 · Chartreuse range, French Alps and Mt Blanc
After a strenuous hike to the the Arch (not easily visible from this perspective but to the left and at the bottom of the peak on the right of the image) we enjoyed magnificent views all the way to Mt. Blanc.

Very nice picture. I do like the steep downhill perspective providing a birds eye view of the landscape.
Great composition and exposure. However, the bush/tree on the left should not be there.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks Michael. Appreciate your comments. I guess what is in or not in the image is personal preference, eh?

Breathtaking image. How strenuous of a hike was it? Elevation change? Distance? Duration?
Cheers,

Thanks Ed. First half of the hike was walking on decommissioned logging roads with a gradual upwards incline. The last half involved scrambling up over scree, through bush and some very easy rock climbing. We gained about 1500 metres in elevation. Total hike was about 20 km round trip but we actually climbed higher, more rock climbing, from where this image was taken to very top of the ridge and took an alternate route down that was an easier descent. We were gone about 8 hours. We stopped for lunch at the arch and enjoyed the view.
