AKA- Anhinga.
Very similar to cormorants in most ways, although snake birds float even lower in the water.
In fact, only their necks and heads are above the surface- hence the name "snake bird."
Very cool Charlie...I was expecting a photo of the State of Florida, a snake AND a bird and you managed to get it all in one image...you my friend are amazing!
Seriously though, I remember the early days of digital photography when we tried to compare slide film to digital files and slides won hands down...well look at those fine wispy feathers just above the legs and on the rear end....even at this magnification they look pretty good.
Your stuff holds up pretty well.
