Activity at Lock and Dam 14 has been picking up with the continued cold weather. Lots of opportunities for captures with more than one eagle and fish fights. Light has not been the best but is forcasted to improve starting tomorrow. Many FM members were among yesterdays crowd.
Locked Talons and lost fish at the bottom
Fish chase by end of lock wall with roller gate in background
Action throughout the day.
Best light begins after lunch and gets really warm as the sun gets lower after 3pm.
I shot yesterday until 4pm.
After lunch the sun starts to move to your backside so when eagles come out of the "World famous Le Claire Eagle Trees" to fish they are "front lit". Mississippi is running East and West here.
There were 9 eagles in the trees at 3:30 yesterday for the grand finalie

Thanks. I've been there once early in the day and noticed the sun was in my face. I didn't know if they did much feeding in the middle of the day but if so I will check it out around noon.
