He obviously doesn't carry all that everytime. I'm sure he'd be equally insulted that you're even looking at his "gear list" - it means next to nothing of course. Ashcough I think I had that last week.

His work is hit and miss. I saw his current work, and it doesn't look as good as his old work. I think he's sponsored by Canon too, isn't he?

i would agree with this. his portfolio is incredible. but it has been compiled over 20 years. but his recent blog showings are just so-so for me.
ascough has influenced the way i shoot with my personal family photography and ultimately my wedding work. his work always intrigued me and left me wondering 'how the hell did he get that shot!'. as i work harder and think more, i understand the dynamics of an image and i know what i want in those images. so ascough's work has become a bit more demystified for me lately.
Eh, does it matter? I would venture to guess most of the people on this board have a lot of the same things in their bag. Don't think it matters much. What sets him apart is his eye for detail & seeing around corners. I think it's the same trait Anerino & hoffer both have. I'd put those 2 guys in the same boat talent wise as Ashcough.
