Cardboard, some 3-4mm thick - spiral wound as thick as you need. End caps, white plastic, exact fit, as with commercial tubes from a stationers.

Found a company in Essex that specialises in custom tubes, and was more than happy to make just half a dozen of them. Really helpful to deal with.

On the sheet feed side of things, I regularly use A3+ sheets in our 8300 - much easier than when I tried the z3200 a while ago

Keith, Thank you for the shipping tube source. Does anyone know of a USA supplier to larger shipping tubes?

Would the 8400's sheet handling be different from your 8300's ability, I wonder?

Got my $1000 rebate check ($800 applied on purchase). All in all a really good experience. I have three roll spindles now and am hanging them on the wall for quick deployment. "Civilians" Oh and AHh over big prints since few have seen large format photographic prints (just 4 color lithos. So far not feeling the lack of an internal spectrophotometer. Must comment again on how easy to use and fast the 8400 is over my Z3100. Really encourages routine large format printing.
