Hope everyone has had a wonderful time this holiday season. My wife and I went to Vegas for Christmas. We had a blast! Just some candid shots... nothing amazing. Just wanted to try out the new gear and I'm pretty pleased with the results. I haven't shot in year... so... a little rusty. I missed plenty of shots... user error.. not the gears fault. 5D3, Sig 85, Canon 40mm pancake (traveled light)
All in all... it was great to get away and relax.
If you want to enjoy a fantastic meal while in Vegas... steak and seafood... you have to give http://www.joes.net/location/las-vegas/ a try. One of the best meals we have ever had. Everything from start to finish was amazing!! Give it a shot... located in Caesar's Palace Again... AWESOME!
I enjoyed seeing these photos (with landscapes too), as I have not been to Vegas in many years and it is always interesting to see how the city has developed with new buildings and attractions...and that New York City cluster with Lady Liberty is amazing.
Thanks for posting the pics and have a Happy New Year.
You haven't shot in a year? Did I understand that correctly? What's going on with that? I've always enjoyed seeing your images the past years. Was your wife competing again in Vegas?

Thanks Steady. The City Center as they call it has changed a ton since you were there. Many new hotels and casinos. I have one shot... but.. doesn't do justice to what was built there. We always enjoy Vegas. I'm not in to the gambling/drinking side of things... we just love the food and the atmosphere.

Yes... long story short... hit a speed bump in life.. ended up selling off all my gear a little over a year ago. I closed the photography business... went back to school (still going) and fortunately last month I was in a position were I could start rebuilding my gear. Picked up the 5D3, Sig 85, Canon 40mm , Sig 150mm macro and a few other things. Still a long ways off from what I had... but.. thankful to have what I do now.
We were in Vegas just for fun... we met up with family there for Christmas. I think she is going to compete again in July or August this coming year. Either in Dallas or Denver.... should be fun.
Thanks for the comments, glad you enjoyed the shots.

Hey. Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed these images; particularly the yawning (?) woman bokeh in 1545. Seriously, I loved the night shots and landscape. Hard to believe you only used two lenses. Which one did you use in the stitches? I'm guessing, 85? Where are the snowy mountains? I want to go back to Vegas, but to visit the outside attractions this time.

Many thanks
I used both lenses for the panoramic shots. The 85 will of course bring things in a little closer than the 40mm. The Sig85 did well at night and the 5D3 did a nice job in the low light. Better than the 5D2 I had
