Shot this wedding seconding for Mr. Sam Hassas back in June. Never in my wildest dreams did I think 2 years ago (when I joined FM at started doing portrait/wedding photography) that I would get the opportunity to shoot along side Sam. When the opportunity presented itself, I was all over it.
It was only my third time second shooting and Sam gave me the freedom to do whatever I wanted which was a liberating experience. I always found it more challenging second shooting for other photographers. If you think about it, most second shooters show up to a wedding without knowing or even meeting the couple beforehand. In a short amount of time, you need build a rapport with them while gaining their trust. Typically, I would use the initial meeting and the engagement session to do this but since this couple is not MY couple, I didn’t have that luxury. Luckily, Sam's clients were absolutely AWESOME so work with. Their personalities matched their looks which means they were super sweet and appreciated the art of photography (which is a photographer’s dream).
Due to the time constraints, I spent more time with the groom and groomsmen as Sam covered the bride and her bridesmaids. For the rest of the wedding, I just tried to stay out of his way and tried to document the wedding as I saw it while using my 5DMK3s for the first time at a wedding.

I always assumed you had WAY more experience shooting weddings and portraits - I actually read this post twice to make sure I read correctly. 2 years? I'm impressed.
I really like your style - it has a seasoned polish and a fresh perspective. Keep up the great work!
